Masters of Fine Arts at MIU
In 2024 I decided to undertake a low residency MFA at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, IA. Being self taught until then, I was curious about investigating art in the context of consciousness. How far would would I delve into abstraction, what would happen to the figure in this context?
July 2024 residency
I wasn’t able to attend in person. The objective was to create in any and all directions, whether it meant drawing with clay or bifurcating into other media. I worked with clay, steel mesh and dry clay.
January 2025 residency
This sculpture residency limited us to cones and cylinders to be created with plaster, construction paper and wood.
July 2025 residency
I had to cut my residency short because I was installing my first solo museum exhibit at the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum. With limited time I decided to look into the subject of censured art as well as sketch for my next series of work.
